I am a local officer who was brought up and lives in the Penryn and Falmouth area. I enjoy the odd game of rugby and am always happy to accept offers of tea and coffee (milk, no sugar!). When the opportunity came up to become a Neighbourhood Beat Manager for the St Gluvias Parish as well as other Parishes, I jumped at the chance. I have always enjoyed working with members of the public, and trying to assist them in resolving any problems they have. This was something that I wasn’t able to do on a regular basis as a response officer.
I have worked all my service as a response officer, and know that I will find the new role as a Neighbourhood Beat Manager both challenging and rewarding.
I think one of the main complaints I have received is that the police are not contactable enough. Therefore here is a reminder of the numbers you can ring :-
999 – Urgent calls where you believe police attendance is immediate.
08452 777 444 – Non urgent enquiries and reporting of crimes.
01326 555158 – Answering Machine Service for Helston Neighbourhood Team. Just leave a message, and I can get back to you when I am next on duty (these should be calls relating to contact especially for me, and should not be used for criming or urgent contact).
